• SEIU lottery scholarship program
  This program awards 48 scholarships between $1,000 and $1,500 to members or their children. Recipients are selected by a lottery drawing.
  
  
• SEIU Moe Foner scholarship program
  This is a one-time $5,000 scholarship to an individual interested in the visual or performing arts.
  
  
• SEIU Jesse Jackson scholarship program
  This is a renewable $5,000 scholarship for a student committed to social and economic justice.
  
  
• SEIU Bonnie Ladin scholarship program
  This scholarship is designated for students attending the National Labor College.
  
  
• SEIU Nora Piore scholarship program
  This award is for an individual pursuing an occupation in health care or health care policy. This scholarship will re-open in 2012.

2012 MBCLC Scholarship Applications Available

The Monterey Bay CLC hereby continues its scholarship program for members working in Monterey or Santa Cruz counties whose local union pays the monthly per capita for that member to the Monterey Bay Central Labor Council. Further, the local union must be in good standing with MBCLC.

In 2012 the Labor Council shall award a Cesar Chavez Memorial Scholarship of $500 and a Johnny Mattos Scholarship of $500.

Union Plus Scholarship Program

Scholarships between $500 and $4000 are available to union members who have one year of continuous union membership.  Spouses and dependent children of union members are also eligible.  The deadline to apply is January 31, 2012.

CSEA Foundation Scholarship Program

This program provides scholarships for dependents, grandchildren, spouses and members of CSEA's affiliate union members (which includes Local 1000 members) who need financial assistance.  The application period for 2011 has closed.  Applications for the 2012-2013 academic year must be submitted prior to March 1, 2012.
